The variety of available computer graphics hardware force us to use software packages to access them in a transparent manner. An example is OpenGL, a software interface to graphics hardware that allows a user to create interactive 3D applications, generating realistic pictures with ral-time performance. Moreover, 3D applications require sophisticated graphical user interfaces, usually designed with the aid of GUI toolkits. The TcL/Tk environment is a specially attractive option since it offers a terse, yet powerful range of GUI features. This paper describes a prototype of a rendering software 3D Viewer that uses TkOGL (Tk-Opengl), a software interface to OpenGL and Tcl/Tk.
